Yoav Artsieli adv. is Deputy Editor of the Israeli Bar Journal.
Before taking up his current position, Yoav directed the body responsible for implementing the Gavison-Medan Covenant, a new social covenant on religious-civil relations in Israel. In this capacity he phrased the proposal for a new Sabbath Law, as part of the Constitution by Consensus project. He also participated in a number of committees and public councils on the Sabbath and other religious-civil issues, and wrote and edited The Gavison-Medan Covenant: Main Points and Principles (Israel Democracy Institute and the Avi-Chai Foundation).
Yoav graduated with honours from the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. He has served as a research assistant for Professor Ruth Gavison, and for former Vice President of the Supreme Court, Menachem Elon. Yoav qualified as a lawyer with Yigal Arnon and Co.
